Montclair 1-11      In a rematch from last year, the 11 yr old team again ran into a buzz saw from Montclair, going down 11-1. The kids from Canyon Hills look forward to getting on track in their next game.
       
Ontario Central 19-2      The 11 yr old team came out focused to win in their game vs. Ontario Central. Scoring 5 runs in the top of the 1st inning, they never looked back as they rolled to victory 19-2.
     Led by a 5 for 5 day from leadoff hitter Kelly Houston, Canyon Hills totaled 20 hits. Houston, who collected two hits in the 1st and again in the 3rd inning, had 5 bunt singles and led an attack of players running wild on the bases.
     Andrew Hoogeveen helped to ignite Canyon Hills with a first inning double, as they raced to a 5-0 lead. Another run in the second took the score to 6-0 before Canyon Hills broke out in a 9-run 3rd inning.
     The 3rd inning uprising was sparked by Houston and a 2-run double from Jacob Kling, who had 2 doubles in the game, and a 2-run triple from J.R. Ayotte.
     The 4th inning saw Canyon Hills score 4 more runs with Jake Muth collecting his 3rd hit of the game, a 2-run single, and Houston getting bunt hit number 5.
     Ayotte pitched a solid 4 innings in taking the win, striking out 7 batters, including the side in the 1st.
       
Ontario Western 13-7      The 11 yr old All-Stars upped their tournament record to 2-1 with another break through performance in defeating Ontario Western 13-7.
     Canyon Hills was a hitting machine led by Kelly Houston's 4 hits, along with 3 hits each from Mikey Mendez and Jake Muth.
     Canyon Hills came back from 3-0 and 6-5 deficits to take charge in the 5th inning. Scoring on seven consecutive RBI at-bats, Canyon Hills put the game out of reach. Following an earlier RBI from Jacob Kling in the 5th, runs were scored in consecutive at bats from Tyler Lopez, Houston, J.R. Ayotte, Andrew Hoogeveen, Zach Ruderman, Mendez, and Kling again.
     Lopez picked up the complete game victory with a solid pitching performance while striking out 7. Canyon Hills played solid defense for much of the game, with the end coming on a spectacular play in the bottom of the 6th, as Houston grabbed a single to center and threw to Muth who blocked home plate and applied the tag for the final out.
